Must be available to work weekends and Holidays.JOB OVERVIEW:In this extrusion operator role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting extrusion machines to produce quality products for our customers.WHAT YOU GET TO DO AS AN EXTRUSION OPERATOR:Observe all prescribed or standard safety rules and regulationsWork from assigned schedule, work orders, perform and make decisions as the sequence of setups and processes within recognized methods and proceduresObtain work instruction and follow prescribed procedures to set or monitor a limited number of barrel augur, extruder, and related forming/winding controls, such as pressure, speed, tension, and heatMove, position nip rollers, rewind shafts, and razor cut devices as required for proper operation. Arrange scrap recovery rolls or cart in proper feed mannerOperate equipment or monitor continuing operations to maintain proper flow of raw and scrap film material and forming, cutting, and rewind operationsRemove completed work; make simple tolerance and/or measurement checks requiredOccasionally perform or assist fairly complicated setup, other machine or related equipment repair, or maintenance duties as instructedDetect and report defective, contaminated material, unusual conditions, or faulty equipment to proper supervisionSet up extrusion lines, extrusion/die head changes, monitoring all line controls & making proper adjustments, and checking dimensions/quality of productExamine products for fine defects and perform quality testing while maintaining production recordsAssist in preventative maintenance of all machines and auxiliary equipment.Ensure work is completion to standardKeep area clean and equipment in good working orderQUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:Manufacturing experience or previous machine operating is requiredTechnical knowledge of extrusion preferred, not requiredSolid verbal and written communication skillsMechanical aptitudeAbility to read a rulerBasic computer skillsDemonstrates organizational skillsPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Physically able to lift up to 40lbsStanding up to 12 hours per day on a rotating day or evening shift, up to 5 days/weekOccasional twisting, turning, or bending to move items up to 50 lbsAlert state of mind to avoid safety hazardsAble to read/see up to 1/16 of an inchOur ExpectationsOur people are engaged and developing as part of a high-performing Amcor teamOur customers grow and prosper from Amcor's quality, service, and innovationOur investors benefit from Amcor's consistent growth and superior returnsThe environment is better off because of Amcor's leadership and productsAccelerate the possible by joining a winning Amcor team that's transforming the packaging industry and improving lives around the world.At Amcor, we unpack possibility through our innovative and responsible packaging to provide solutions that benefit our customers, our people and our planet.
