Extrusion Operator - 3rd Shift

Extrusion OperatorDoherty Staffing Solutions is hiring Extrusion Operators for a leading supplier in the fishing industry located in Spirit Lake, IA. In this role, you’ll help keep extrusion lines running smoothly, support consistent product quality, and work with a dedicated and experienced production team. If you enjoy hands-on, mechanical work and want a dependable overnight schedule with weekly pay, this could be a great opportunity for you.What You’ll Do as an Extrusion Operator:Monitor extruders to ensure continuous operationPerform mixing, equipment setup, and accurate machine adjustmentsMaintain logs on temperatures, settings, and machine conditionsRemove full spools and load empty ones on take-up equipmentInspect lines for roughness, correct diameter, elongation, and overall qualityMonitor winding and tension levels on all spoolsPerform die, braid, color, and material changeoversRecord material usage and scrap quantitiesComplete preventative maintenance on production equipmentDisassemble and reassemble die packs as neededWhat You Need to Bring to the Extrusion Operator Role:High school diploma/GED OR 6–12 months related experience/trainingStrong mechanical aptitude with good hand dexterity and coordinationAbility to follow recipes/data to produce quality monofilamentAbility to handle 5–50 lb spools and move 200 lb containers using a barrel cart (with or without reasonable accommodations)Good judgment and focus on safety while maximizing production yieldWhy You’ll Like Working with Doherty Staffing Solutions:Enjoy weekly pay, access to health coverage options through Benefits in a Card (including preventative and minimum value plans), and opportunities for long-term stability where applicable.
