Job Title: Extrusion Manager
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Salary: $140,000–$150,000 + Bonus
About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Extrusion Manager to lead a 24/7 plastics manufacturing operation. This role will oversee production, safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement while developing and supporting production supervisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead extrusion operations across a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- Manage and develop production supervisors and employees.
- Drive improvements in safety, quality, productivity, waste, downtime, and efficiency.
- Monitor production KPIs and implement corrective actions.
- Lead root cause analysis, Lean/5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Maintenance, Quality, R&D, vendors, and plant leadership.
- Maintain production records, work orders, and department budgets.
- Build employee engagement and a strong, accountable production culture.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of production leadership experience in plastics process manufacturing.
- Strong people-management and supervisor-development experience.
- Hands-on, floor-focused leadership style.
- Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
- Blown-film extrusion preferred; cast film, blow molding, or thermoforming experience considered.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, ISO 9001, or other quality tools preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Proficiency with Excel and Word.
