Extruder Operator Nights

Extruder OperatorFounded in 1912, Illinois Tool Works Inc. (NYSE: ITW) is a diversified, Fortune 500 manufacturing company that delivers specialized expertise, innovative thinking and value-added products to meet critical customer needs in a variety of industries.Zip-Pak, Manteno, we need extruder operators to operate plastic extrusion lines. 12-hour shift (7pm-7am), 2-2-3 day schedule with alternating weekends off.

Clean, safe, temperature-controlled work environment.The extruder operator is responsible for running and maintaining a quality product. The operator must be proficient in making necessary adjustments and judgements to consistently produce product within quality specifications at or above productivity targets: line speed, uptime, and yield.Principal Accountabilities:Quality:Utilizes judgment in acceptable variance from specificationsEnsures proper equipment set-upProperly performs and records quality checksCommunicates troubleshooting efforts with team members, supervision, maintenanceAssures proper quantities are run (no significant over/under runs)Changeovers and Line Cleaning:Performs line changeoversPerforms line cleaningPerforms some preventative maintenance as requiredPackaging:Properly boxes productEnsures product is identified correctly and legiblyUtilizes correct pallet configurationAssures pallet is secure and identified correctly and legibly.Safety/Housekeeping:Understands and observes all safety precautions, rules and regulationsUnderstands and observes all HACCP and SQF regulationsKeeps the area around line cleanReports all safety hazards to supervisorPaperwork:Completes all required paperwork properly and legiblyStrong attention to detail, computer skills, accuracy, with data entryTeamwork:Assists other operators with spool handlingAssists other operators with changeoversAssists other operators with line cleaningParticipates on task forces and committees as requested Other job-related duties as assigned.Qualifying Requirements:Extrusion experience desirableHigh School diploma or GEDStable work historyDemonstrates willingness to accept or seek new assignmentsMechanical aptitude/good troubleshooting skillsPhysical Requirements:Able to lift and carry 50 poundsAble to stand for long periods of timeAble to walk, bend, squat and twist, close visionCompensation Information:For Nights- The hourly range for a Extruder Operator 1 is $20.00 to $24.00/hr. The pay rate for a successful candidate will depend on the geographic location, this pay range is for a successful candidate in the Chicagoland area.
