Export Logistics PlannerThe Export Logistics Planner will efficiently manage the transportation of international bulk container truck moves to plant and customer locations; strategically manage inventories and container moves to ensure customer satisfaction.Essential Duties/Responsibilities:Efficiently manage the transportation of export containers truck moves to plant and customer locations.Strategically manage transportation routes while meeting or exceeding the financial goals of business unit and company.Ensures all appropriate information, ie reports, documentation meets all requirements.Update account managers on service issues and freight cost variations and to ensure service meets sale expectations.Recruit and maintain adequate number of freight vendors to support customer base.Analyze transportations costs and maintain carrier rate tables.Communicates schedules to export customers from preloading through destination.Audit freight invoices for accuracy and monitor accessorial charges.Negotiate rates with ocean carriersPrepares and handles any cargo insurance and any related claimsNegotiates any demurrage or detention claims with carriers.Analyze data to monitor performance and plan improvements in transportation costs.All other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:High School diploma or GED equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.Minimum 3 + years' experience in an Export Supply Chain or Logistics environment.Demonstrated ability to utilize ERP systems and proficient use of Microsoft Office.NOTE: After hours and weekend coverage occasionally required.Preferred Qualifications:Detail oriented; highly organized.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Problem analysis and assessment for solutions.Able to deal professionally with internal and external customers.Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize.Must be flexible and able to excel in a stressful environment.Self-starter; self-motivated.Working EnvironmentNone - Exposed to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environments such as high noise level, strong odors, and/or exposure to heat and coldNone - Exposed to bio hazardous conditionsNone - Exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerationsOccasionally - Exposed to Electrical hazards; risk of electrical shockNone - Handles or works with potentially dangerous equipmentOccasionally - Travels to offsite locationsPhysical DemandsConstantly- Must be able to remain in a stationary position (Sit)Constantly- Must be able to move about inside/outside office or work location (Walk)Constantly - Operates a computer and other office machinery (Use hands to finger, handle or feel)Occasionally - Must be able to position one's self to maintain computers in the lab, including under desks and in the server closet (Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl)None - Must be able to ascend/descend on a ladder (Climb or balance)None - Must be able to use senses to; effectively communicate with co-workers and clients and detect hazardous conditions (Talk, hear, taste, smell)Weight and Force DemandsOccasionally - Up to 10 poundsNone - Up to 25 poundsNone - Up to 50 poundsNone - Up to 100 poundsNone - More than 100 poundsDarling Ingredients is an equal opportunity employer and gives consideration to qualified applicants without regard to race, color, creed, religion, age, pregnancy, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, genetic information, physical or mental disability, military service, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state and local law.
