Night Shift Hospitalist – Acute Care Physician Assistant (Full‑time)

We are looking for a Physician Assistant to work as a Hospitalist on the night shift (7 pm to 7 am, 7 on/7 off). The PA will work closely with a team evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a variety of inpatient patients at Texas Health HEB on the Hurst campus.

Responsibilities

• Assist hospitalists with inpatient evaluations, histories and physical examinations, and follow‑up visits.
• Initiate appropriate treatment and testing for medical illnesses.
• Complete history and physical examinations on all new admissions.
• Round on rehabilitation patients, including long‑term acute‑care patients.
• Document patient encounters using the EMR system.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement processes.

Qualifications

• Licensed Acute‑Care Physician Assistant in Texas.
• ACLS certification.
• At least 2 years of PA experience in ICU or CVICU settings.
• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant or equivalent (required).
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Physician Assistant.
• Ability to maintain board certification as required for licensure.
• Strong active listening, critical thinking, reading comprehension, effective communication, time management, judgment, and decision‑making skills.
• Individual contributor with minimal supervision.

Physical Demands and Workplace Requirements

• ADA Requirements: Working indoors 67% or more, mechanical hazards 1‑33%, electrical hazards 1‑33%.
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues (OSHA).
• Light work demands.
