Our services include Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Radiology and a 24 hour Emergency/Critical Care Service.Instrument Assistants are responsible for:Cleaning and sterilizing surgical instrumentsBeing able to properly use and perform maintenance on autoclave, ultrasonic and all cleaning devices.Having or being willing to obtain a gas sterilizer certificateProperly packing instruments using the correct indicators containers and pouchesMaintaining and caring for surgical instruments and equipment.Maintaining a log of surgical instruments and pull lists for different surgical proceduresSurgical scrub laundry and some general cleaning in surgery areasOrganizing surgical rooms on a daily basisPreparing/cleaning operating rooms prior to surgery and after surgeryFamiliarity of sterile technique to open instruments during a surgerySetting up for orthopedic and soft tissue surgeriesStocking surgical suitesThis is a full-time positionSalary: $21.00 - $23.00 per hourTuesday – Friday (4) 10-hour shiftsBenefits included but are not limited to:Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance401K w/ company matchHSA/FSA optionsPaid HolidaysVacation & Sick time offPet discountsIf you are interested in starting or continuing your career in a well-established, well-respected emergency and specialty referral center you can call home, then VCA California Veterinary Specialists in Ontario is the place for you.If you are a current associate, you will need to apply through our internal career site.
