Job Summary
Must Have Previous Marketing Experience
The Marketing Liaison interfaces with hospitals, skilled nursing homes, board and care homes, outpatient discharge planning services, and physician offices. Provides and acts as a community resource and public relations representative in facilitating safe, quality healthcare in our communities. The Marketing Liaison is expected to generate appropriate patient referrals and admissions by establishing and maintaining professional relationships with all referral sources. Works with the Executive Director on appropriate social media content to generate community engagement and referrals. Additional duties include working in Intake and Medical Records as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Generate business by creating new and maintaining existing relationships with physicians and other medical professionals, community and senior organizations, hospitals, special interest groups, discharge planners, nursing home professionals, assisted living facilities, and other potential referral sources.
- Prepare and conduct sales and educational presentations for physicians, businesses, and local community groups regarding home‑care services and benefits.
- Assist the Director of Business Development in establishing organization volume projections in the annual budget and in allocating resources for the marketing department.
- Monitor allocation of resources according to budgetary limitations.
- Continuously conduct market assessments and develop a comprehensive marketing plan designed to meet budgetary volume projections.
- Exceed client and internal expectations by providing daily communication and creative solutions to problems while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with current and potential referral and payer sources.
- Document all physician office visits, referral source visits, follow‑ups, phone calls, and gifts; maintain a minimum of 50 documented quality interactions per week.
- Ensure all communications, messaging, and branding are aligned with the Emblem Hospice culture.
- Build and monitor community, customer, and payer perceptions of Emblem Hospice as a high‑quality provider of services.
- Strategically plan by identifying opportunities for additional or improved services to address customer needs.
- Maintain comprehensive working knowledge of home health, palliative care, and hospice markets, including government agencies, major payer groups, key referral sources, and competitor market positioning.
- Maintain comprehensive working knowledge of marketing and share information with relevant organization personnel.
- Maintain comprehensive working knowledge of community resources and assist customers in accessing those resources should services not be provided by Cornerstone Healthcare, Inc.
- Understand the Intake and Medical Records process to support both roles as needed.
- Monitor and report the cost effectiveness of marketing efforts.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least three years’ experience in health‑care marketing, preferably in hospice care operations.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to increase business targets, obtain contacts, and maintain relationships in the communities.
- Ability to market and deal tactfully with customers and the community.
- Ability to maintain an organized approach to territory management and work with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated good communication, negotiation, and public‑relations skills.
- Demonstrated autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility, and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance coverage, and access to an automobile for agency‑related travel.
