Experienced Die Maker / EDM Technician (Deep Draw Stamping)

Toolmaker / EDM TechnicianCadence is seeking a skilled Toolmaker / EDM Technician to join our precision manufacturing team. This role is responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining tooling used in high-precision deep draw stamping operations, while supporting tooling performance, product quality, and manufacturing efficiency.The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience in tool and die work, EDM operations, precision machining, and problem solving within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled professional who enjoys working with complex tooling systems and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that support critical manufacturing operations.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain dies and tooling used for precision deep draw stamping operationsSet up and operate wire and sinker EDM equipment to produce and repair high-precision tooling componentsInterpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and technical specifications to manufacture tooling to exact tolerancesPerform precision machining operations including grinding, milling, turning, polishing, fitting, and finishing as requiredInspect completed tooling components using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications and tolerancesSupport tooling modifications and continuous improvement initiatives to improve manufacturability, uptime, quality, and operational efficiencyCollaborate with Engineering, Production, and Maintenance teams to diagnose and resolve tooling and manufacturing issuesMaintain accurate documentation related to tooling repairs, maintenance activities, and process improvementsAssist with preventative maintenance programs and tooling inventory managementEnsure compliance with all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policiesQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade school certification preferred3+ years of experience in tool and die, die making, precision machining, EDM operations, or related manufacturing environmentsStrong knowledge of tooling construction, machining processes, and precision measurement techniquesAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and technical specificationsProficiency using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gaugesStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsAbility to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipPreferred QualificationsExperience in medical device, aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing environmentsCNC programming and/or CAD/CAM experienceFamiliarity with eyelet tooling, progressive dies, or precision deep draw stamping applicationsLean manufacturing and continuous improvement experienceWhat You'll BringA hands-on, solutions-oriented approach to tooling challengesStrong collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teamsA commitment to precision, craftsmanship, safety, and continuous improvementThe ability to identify opportunities to improve tooling performance and manufacturing reliabilityAbout CadenceCadence is a leading contract manufacturer specializing in precision components and assemblies for the medical device and life sciences industries.
