PositionSummary
Leads,directs,andcoordinatestheworkofsubcontractorsand/orHaynestradelabor.TheSuperintendentisresponsibleforensuringsafety,scheduledelivery,qualityofworkperformedandadherencetobudgetoftheproject.TheSuperintendentisrequiredtodeliverOn-time/On-budgetprojectswhileexceedingclientserviceexpectations.Inaddition,theSuperintendenthassupervisoryresponsibilityforAssistantSuperintendents,FieldEngineers,Interns,andtradelaborwithintheirareaofresponsibility,toincludetraining,mentoringanddirecting.

TheSeniorSuperintendentprovidesoveralldirectiononprojectsanddevelopsandmaintainsstrongworkingrelationshipswiththeownersandarchitectsthroughouttheprojectlifecycle.Thisindividualevaluatesprojectperformance,siteconditions,safetyandqualitystandards,compliancewithscope,andeffectivemanagementoftradepartners.Thisindividualisalsoresponsibleforensuringthatconstructabilityreviews,logisticsplansandbaselineschedulesachieveprojectturnoverrequirements.
Responsibilities
- Oversee,manage,anddocumentallday-to-dayjobsiteactivitiesincludingOSHAsafetycompliance
- DirectfieldpersonnelaccordingtotheprojectplanandHaynessupervisoryprinciples
- Communicateissues,events,performance,andprogressdailytotheProjectManager
- ReportanyproblemspromptlytotheProjectManagertofacilitatethemostcost-effectivesolutions
- EstablisheffectiveworkingrelationshipswithClients,Haynesteammembers,subcontractors,andAuthoritiesHavingJurisdiction.
- RequestadviceandassistancefromtheGeneralSuperintendentorProjectExecutiveonmatterspertainingtomaterials,sequencing,scheduling,logistics,andpersonnel
ProjectStart-Up/TurnoverMeeting:
- Identifypre-mobilizationactivitiesinconjunctionwiththeProjectExecutive,GeneralSuperintendent,andtheProjectManager
- Developstart-upschedulewithProjectManagerandsendittotheProjectExecutiveandGeneralSuperintendentforreview
- Scheduling:
- Assistinformulatingandimplementingconstructionschedulesinthefield
- EstablishandimplementtheProjectBaselineSchedulebasedontheprojectcontractsandsubcontractorinput,consideringanyelementsthatmightimpacttheschedule
- Maintainthescheduleandensurethatworkperformedisconsistentwiththecontractandwillmeetorexceedclientexpectations
- UpdateProjectSchedulemonthly
- Provideprogressreportwiththethree-weeklookaheadofscheduletotheProjectManagerandthefieldstaff
- Safety:
- Ensurethatallsubcontractorsparticipateinasafetypre-constructionmeetingpriortostartingworkontheproject
- ReviewtheprojectdailytoensurethatallactivitiesarebeingperformedinaccordancewithallOSHAandgoverningrequirementsandtheprojectsitespecificsafetyplan
- QualityManagement:
- Ensurethatallpertinentbenchmarksfortheprojectareestablishedandinsertedintothebaselineschedule
- Ensurethatall1stdeliveryinspectionsandBenchmarkinspectionsoccurperthebaselineschedulesoasnottoimpacttheprogressionofthesubsequentwork
- Ensurethattheinspectionsareapproved,documentedandcommunicatedtotheprojectteam
- SubcontractorandSiteManagementthroughouttheProject:
- Managesitepre-constructionincludingpre-constructionsurvey,jobsiteutilizationandstagingplans
