Casualty UnderwriterDay-to-day responsibilities include expand and develop new business opportunities through production & marketing calls with brokers and clients, market to distribution channels, prequalify new business, and utilize underwriting acumen to select sound casualty risks and form opinion of risk.Essential job functions:Develop and build the Casualty book of business which includes primary, umbrella, excess liability in the Central territoryEstablish, develop, and expand broker and customer relationships in the Central RegionTravel up to 20% of the timeUnderwrite and grow book of surplus and admitted lines businessAbility to work in a fast paced environment, multi-task, and make quick decisions while maintaining underwriting integrityRequirements:8 plus years' Casualty underwriting experienceExperience with general liability, product liability, energy, excess auto, and excess constructionStrong underwriting acumenExisting wholesale and retail broker relationshipsAbility to work within a team environmentStrong communication skills including advanced negotiation, communications and presentation experienceBS/BA Degree or equivalent experienceNote: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
