Role Description
The Experience RN – Float is a full-time, on-site role based in Gainesville, FL. This position provides professional nursing care to patients across multiple units, adapting to varied clinical environments and patient populations as staffing needs change. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, developing and implementing individualized care plans, administering medications and treatments, and monitoring patient responses. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, supports patient and family education, and ensures adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The role also involves accurate documentation, participation in unit-based initiatives, and contributing to a positive, respectful, and inclusive care environment.
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida and current BLS certification; ACLS and other specialty certifications preferred.
- Demonstrated clinical nursing expertise in acute care settings, with the ability to float across multiple units and adapt to different patient populations.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills to manage changing patient conditions safely and effectively.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work with diverse patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Proficiency in electronic health records, documentation, and basic computer skills; familiarity with evidence-based practice and quality improvement processes.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent RN experience in hospital or similar settings; experience in a float pool or multiple specialties is beneficial.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing); BSN preferred.
- Ability to work full-time on-site with flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays as needed, and to maintain professional conduct in a dynamic environment.
