Experience Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Geriatrics) - North Shore

Job responsibilities:

• Provide continuity of care for an established caseload of elderly patients residing in nursing homes.
• Focus on patients with identified or suspected behavioral/mental health conditions and integrate psychiatric expertise into the medical management plan to mitigate negative impacts on overall health and well-being.
• Provide evaluation and treatment services for high-functioning clientele. Prescribe and manage medications. Communicate changes at the first available opportunity if unable to reach and in emergent situations.
• Work with a complex population; operate as a key member of the clinical team; all clients are treated within the context of a treatment team.
• Flexible schedule with oversight of patients at 1-2 nursing homes; no running around; no on-call or weekend responsibilities; psychiatrist supervision provided.

Qualifications:

• Experienced Nurse Practitioner with experience in Geriatric Behavioral Healthcare.
• Skill in working with a complex population.
