Executive Medical Director, Multispecialty Service Line

AdventHealth Medical Group West Florida Division is seeking an Executive Medical Director for a non-primary care specialty. This leadership role is split 50% administrative and 50% clinical, providing strategic and clinical oversight to employed specialty practices. The director will drive improvements in patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and quality performance, while also playing a key role in physician recruitment and staffing optimization.

Practice Info

• The West Florida Division Medical Group has nearly tripled in size over the last six years and projects to grow to 900 providers by the end of 2026.
• The division spans a broad geography in eight counties, with practices in Charlotte, Hardee, Highlands, Hillsborough, Marion, Pasco, Pinellas, and Polk counties, as well as five Care Pavilions.
• Providers represent 40 specialties and care for one million patients annually.
• Staff provides care at locations throughout West Florida, including fifteen AdventHealth hospital locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical direction, oversight, and physician leadership to all AdventHealth Medical Group employed specialty practices in West Florida.
• Provide strategic and clinical leadership that drives measurable improvements in patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and quality performance.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to standardize care pathways and implement evidence-based practices.
• Align physician engagement with organizational goals.
• Play a key role in physician recruitment, onboarding, and staffing optimization.
• Ensure the service line is supported by high-quality clinicians and structured to meet both current demand and future growth.
• Provide oversight for the clinical and operational performance of the providers and practices in a dyad partnership in their assigned region.
• Develop and implement the clinical vision for their region, while ensuring AHMG and care management clinical practices/policies are adhered to.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine
• Active Florida Medical License
• Active US Board certification
• Unrestricted active AdventHealth hospital privileges
• Strong knowledge and understanding of medical practice and clinic management, clinic operational structures and systems, policies, procedures, and processes.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in managing a health care facility.
• Leadership experience should include management of staff, budgets, and multiple clinic functions.
