Brookdale Smithfield is hiring an Executive Director to lead daily operations, associate relations, resident engagement, financial performance, and regulatory compliance for our Senior Living community that supports Assisted Living & Memory Care. The Executive Director will work with the district team to grow revenue and profitability, build an inclusive community culture, and uphold the highest quality of resident care.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations, interacting with staff, residents, prospects, and families.
- Develop and execute the community business plan, operating and capital budgets, and performance reviews in partnership with the district team.
- Supervise, direct, and motivate community staff; cultivate teamwork, inclusive culture, and appropriate staffing levels.
- Recruit, hire, train, and retain associates; manage promotions, development plans, and disciplinary actions.
- Maintain resident satisfaction and retention; lead resident surveys, resolve issues, and leverage satisfied residents for occupancy growth.
- Collaborate with the community clinical leader to ensure appropriate care services and compliance with legal requirements.
- Demonstrate financial acumen to meet or exceed revenue and profitability targets, manage expenses, and explore revenue enhancement opportunities.
- Drive sales and marketing efforts to achieve occupancy and revenue objectives through new business, lead generation, and community marketing.
- Build relationships with local influencers, professionals, community groups, and government agencies to elevate the community profile.
- Oversee building, grounds, and property maintenance to meet company standards; enforce current company policies and maintain required licenses.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum two years of operational leadership experience in senior living or related facility.
- Valid administrator license in required states; valid driver’s license and access to a private vehicle for business use.
- Strong leadership, analytic, communication, and decision‑making skills.
- Knowledge of senior living industry, Microsoft software proficiency, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and interact with residents and vendors; availability for occasional weekend, evening, or night work.
