Overview
The Selma Housing Authority in Selma, North Carolina seeks an Executive Director to lead the Authority's operations, including housing management, redevelopment, procurement, planning, personnel, budgeting, finance, grants, and contracts. The Executive Director will communicate effectively with residents and government agencies and implement policies to ensure decent, safe, and sanitary housing for residents. The candidate should have thorough knowledge of HUD programs, policies, and procedures, at least five years of public housing management experience, PHM certification or certifiable within one year, and at least an associate’s degree in public or business administration or a related field. Proficiency in finance and accounting, personnel management, public relations, and computer skills is required. The Executive Director reports to a five-member Board of Commissioners with expectations to maintain High Performer status.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the Housing Authority’s operations, including property management, redevelopment, procurement, planning, budgeting, grants, and contracts.
- Ensure effective communication with residents and external agency representatives.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to insure decent, safe, and sanitary housing.
- Provide leadership in finance and accounting, personnel management, and public relations.
- Collaborate with the Board of Commissioners and other stakeholders to achieve performance goals.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years of experience in public housing management.
- PHM certification or certifiable within one year of employment.
- At least an associate’s degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field.
- Thorough knowledge of HUD programs, policies, and procedures.
- Proficiency in finance and accounting, personnel management, public relations, and computer skills.
