MOASD provides personalized care for the detection, diagnosis, treatment, support and follow-up of cancer patients and their families.Our offices are within the Sharp Outpatient Pavilion, designed specifically to meet the needs of individuals diagnosed with cancer. Recognizing the importance of providing all services "under one roof", our offices house a medical oncology infusion center, physician offices and exam rooms, and on-site registration.
MOASD operates satellite facilities adjacent to UC San Diego Health East Campus, Scripps Mercy, and Sharp Coronado Hospital.The Executive Director serves as the senior operational leader for Medical Oncology Associates of San Diego, with primary responsibility for day-to-day operations, staff leadership, and execution of strategic priorities. This role partners closely with the CEO and Physician Board to translate strategy into operational plans, ensure regulatory compliance, optimize performance, and support high quality patient care in a complex, highly regulated healthcare environment.The ideal candidate is a hands-on operations executive with deep experience in physician practice management, strong people leadership skills, and the ability to balance operational rigor with physician partnership.Responsibilities/Essential Functions:Practice Operations & PerformanceStaff Leadership & OversightStrategy Execution & Physician PartnershipFinancial & Business OversightCompliance, Quality & Risk ManagementExperience, Qualifications, Education:Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field, requiredMinimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, with significant experience in physician practice management and employee oversight, requiredDemonstrated success leading multi-disciplinary teams in a clinical environment, requiredStrong understanding of medical practice operations, preferably within oncology or a specialty care setting, requiredProven ability to execute strategy, manage complexity, and drive operational results, requiredMaster's degree (MHA, MBA, MPH, or equivalent), preferredExperience in a physician-owned or physician-governed practice environment, preferredFamiliarity with California healthcare regulatory and employment considerations, preferredExperience supporting practice growth, service expansion, or new site development, preferredRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Operational leadership and executionPhysician collaboration and governance supportPeople leadership and performance managementStrategic thinking with hands on implementationFinancial and operational acumenChange management and communication excellenceWorking Conditions:This position functions indoors in a medical/business environment.
