Executive Director - Rainier Foothills Wellness Foundation
Rainier Foothills Wellness Foundation is a 501c3 non‑profit organization addressing hunger, access to healthcare, mental health and student supports. Based in Enumclaw, WA, RFWF serves the greater Enumclaw/Buckley Plateau.
The Executive Director leads the organization’s development and programming operations with a team of 5+ employees and hundreds of volunteers. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Executive Director is responsible for strategic planning, fundraising/development, program oversight, team leadership, communications/marketing, compliance, Human Resources and Administration.
Areas of Responsibility:
Strategic Planning
- Work with Board of Trustees to identify, create and implement strategic plans to actualize RFWF’s goals and objectives. This may include strategic planning meetings/retreats, forming and supporting related committees, etc.
- Communicate strategic plans, both organization-wide and micro‑level as they relate to specific programs/activities, to all team members and partners.
- Develop partnerships with stakeholders, community partners and other relevant parties to develop and achieve goals and objectives outlined in strategic plans.
- Continually assess community resources and needs. Develop and adapt solutions to solve for outstanding and emerging need.
- Develop and implement multi‑touch and multi‑channel donor journey with focus on both acquisition and retention.
- Continually monitor success of fundraising activities to include acquisition and retention rates, ROI and competitive analysis.
- Focus fundraising efforts on individual/corporate donors, grants, annual gala as well as planned giving program development.
- Oversee staff and volunteers who manage and implement RFWF’s annual fundraising gala and other supporting fundraising events throughout the year.
- Identify, secure and report on grant funding from foundation, corporate and local government sources.
Communications, Marketing & Brand
- Develop, implement and protect brand identity representative of Foundation mission and values.
- Ensure that brand is consistently and clearly communicated through each interaction across the organization.
- Develop and implement multi‑channel marketing and communications plan utilizing digital, social, written and in‑person touchpoints.
- Design and distribute communications across all channels (web, email, print, social).
- Secure speaking engagements among local and regional partnerships, government agencies, clubs, community events, etc.
- Serve as public relations contact for local news outlets, partner communications, etc.
- Serve on local boards and committees focused on improving the communities we serve.
Budget & Board Relations
- Develop and monitor annual operating budget of over $750,000
- Continually monitor financials across the organization using Quickbooks Online software
- Organize and support the Foundation President in implementing monthly meetings of the Board of Trustees.
- Work closely with the Foundation’s Treasurer to prepare financial reports for the monthly finance committee meeting.
- Support any and all sub‑committees of the Board of Trustees.
- Manage payroll to ensure staff are paid accurately and in accordance with state and federal law.
- Monitor and approve staff expenses as they fit within the annual budget.
- Identify, recruit, train and lead a team of employees and volunteers who can lead departments and manage business functions.
- Monitor operations and ensure that employees and volunteers comply with regulatory and legal requirements.
- Create a positive culture that represents the nature of RFWF mission and motivates employees.
Other
- Oversee building operations including supervision of scheduling, maintenance, community use, costs, etc.
- Identify and develop capital plans including fundraising and project management. See projects through to completion and keep Board of Trustees and other stakeholders informed throughout. Examples include facility acquisition/expansion, vehicle acquisition, etc.
- Partner with local service organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Plateau Outreach Ministries and others as needed
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Non‑profit Administration, Communications or related area of study.
- 10+ years in human services field with increasing level of responsibility.
- 5+ years staff supervision.
- 5+ years budget development and monitoring.
- 5+ years in multi‑channel communication.
- Proficiency with the following technical applications:
- Microsoft Office
- Google Suite
- Graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.
- 3+ years in CRM and/or Donor Management tools
- 2+ years with Quickbooks or equivalent bookkeeping software
- 3-5 years of Grant Writing experience preferred
Compensation
The Executive Director is a full-time, salaried position and requires at least 40 hours per week. Work hours include in-office, outside meetings/events and remote possibilities.
