Overview
OneOncology is positioning community oncologists to drive the future of medical care through a patient-centric, physician-driven, and technology-powered model. The team aims to improve the lives of people living with cancer and other diseases. OneOncology is launching a brand-new practice in Kansas City with 4–7 medical oncologists and seeks an Executive Director to lead this venture.
You will collaborate with experienced physicians and the OneOncology network to shape the practice’s culture, success, and impact on thousands of cancer patients. As the boots-on-the-ground leader and the practice’s first hire, you will work with the OneOncology corporate team to build the practice from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Lead site development and oversee the practice build-out to ensure readiness for opening with minimal impact on patient care.
- Recruit and hire inaugural staff and develop them to create a high-performance team environment.
- Support clinical system (EMR) buildout in partnership with clinical staff, ensuring technology and interfaces meet practice needs.
- Cultivate a collaborative culture by fostering strong relationships with physicians, mid-level providers, and staff.
- Drive operational excellence by developing and implementing strategies to optimize efficiency, manage finances, and achieve strong financial performance.
- Manage site operations: monitor and supervise all aspects of the organization, address challenges proactively, and promote quality patient care and a positive patient experience.
- Oversee weekly physician meetings and monthly leadership operations meetings to facilitate communication and collaboration.
- Build and maintain strong relationships between local teams and OneOncology corporate teams.
- Lead business development efforts to expand the patient base and build strategic partnerships with payors, hospital systems, and referring networks.
- Represent the practice in professional associations, industry forums, and community events to promote awareness and the organization’s reputation.
- Develop and implement a marketing program to raise awareness of the practice and attract new patients.
- Ensure regulatory and compliance adherence, protect patient privacy, and pursue relevant accreditations.
Qualifications
- Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Management, Public Health Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare management, with preferred experience in oncology practice administration.
- Experience operating effectively in a complex decision-making setting.
- Strong communication and relationship development skills suitable for leading a diverse group of physicians, leaders, team members, and outside partners.
- Willingness to travel to OneOncology locations and community oncology events at least quarterly.
