Executive Director of the South Carolina Water Resources Center

The Executive Director leads the South Carolina Water Resources Center at Clemson University, serving as principal spokesperson and providing strategic oversight of integrated research and Extension programs focused on water resources. The role involves managing public service initiatives, developing collaborative relationships across state and federal agencies, and advancing innovative programs in areas such as water-data integration, climate resilience, and emerging contaminants. The Executive Director manages daily operations, budgets, and personnel while fostering a collegial environment and securing external funding.

Key qualifications

• Ph.D. in a water-related discipline with tenured-rank qualifications in the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences
• 10+ years experience in a premier academic setting or demonstrated leadership running a similar government or non-governmental center
• Influential leadership skills including supervisory and budgetary experience
• Excellent scholarship and grantsmanship track record
• Strong communication skills and ability to build stakeholder support
• Exemplary mentoring skills and commitment to the land-grant mission
