Location: Long Island, New York

Compensation: $170,000–$190,000 annually

A well-established global logistics company is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead its U.S. operations.

The company provides comprehensive logistics and supply chain services to affiliated organizations and external customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening the company’s existing operations while expanding its external customer base, improving profitability, and positioning the organization for sustainable long-term growth.

Position Overview

The Executive Director will have overall responsibility for the company’s strategy, financial performance, business development, operations, organizational leadership, governance, and stakeholder relationships.

This position requires a commercially minded executive who can manage the existing business, identify new revenue opportunities, improve operational efficiency, and lead the organization through continued growth and transformation.

The successful candidate should be comfortable operating in a global and cross-cultural environment and working with domestic and international stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic and Business Leadership

  • Develop and execute the company’s mid- to long-term business strategy
  • Assume full profit and loss responsibility and achieve financial and operational targets
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability, productivity, and service quality
  • Lead business transformation, process improvement, and digitalization initiatives
  • Evaluate market trends, competitive developments, and potential business risks
  • Establish clear organizational priorities and ensure effective execution across departments

Business Development and Market Expansion

  • Expand the company’s external customer base and develop new revenue streams
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within logistics, transportation, supply chain, and related services
  • Strengthen the company’s competitive position and market presence
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers, business partners, and industry stakeholders
  • Lead major customer negotiations, proposals, and strategic commercial initiatives
  • Develop sales strategies that support sustainable and profitable growth

Operational and Financial Management

  • Oversee the company’s logistics, supply chain, transportation, and customer service operations
  • Ensure efficient, reliable, and high-quality service delivery
  • Monitor budgets, forecasts, profitability, cash flow, and key performance indicators
  • Implement appropriate financial controls and performance management processes
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and lead corrective actions
  • Balance customer service, cost management, risk, and profitability objectives

Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with shareholders, affiliated entities, customers, and business partners
  • Align company strategy and performance with stakeholder expectations
  • Provide clear and transparent reporting regarding financial results, operations, risks, and strategic initiatives
  • Communicate effectively with both U.S.-based and international stakeholders
  • Represent the company professionally in external meetings, industry events, and business negotiations

Organizational and Talent Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and mentor the executive and management teams
  • Build a performance-driven, accountable, and collaborative organizational culture
  • Strengthen employee engagement, retention, and leadership development
  • Establish succession planning and talent development programs
  • Evaluate organizational structure and staffing needs as the business evolves
  • Promote effective communication and collaboration across departments

Governance, Risk, and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and industry standards
  • Maintain high standards of integrity, ethics, accountability, and corporate governance
  • Oversee risk management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure that operational, financial, legal, and reputational risks are appropriately identified and managed
  • Maintain a safe, professional, and compliant workplace environment

Required Qualifications

  • Senior executive leadership experience at the Vice President level or above
  • Professional background in logistics, supply chain, transportation, freight forwarding, distribution, warehousing, or a closely related industry
  • Demonstrated experience with full profit and loss responsibility
  • Proven ability to develop and execute business strategy
  • Successful track record in business development, revenue growth, or market expansion
  • Experience leading organizational transformation, restructuring, operational improvement, or new business initiatives
  • Strong financial, commercial, and operational management capabilities
  • Experience managing senior-level customer, shareholder, or stakeholder relationships
  • Demonstrated success working in multicultural or cross-border business environments
  • Strong English communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • High level of integrity, sound judgment, and professional credibility
