The role calls for an operator who maintains a strong understanding of trends shaping healthcare delivery and who can lead change efforts with flexibility and initiative in response to environmental and organizational shifts.
Scope & Impact
As Executive Director, you will be responsible for the management and operation of the clinical programs and services provided by the Cedars-Sinai Medical Network hematology oncology medical groups, including but not limited to Cedars Sinai Cancer in West Los Angeles and Santa Monica and Marina del Rey.
Your scope includes clinical practice operations, research operations, human resource management, fiscal accountability, productivity, and regulatory compliance. You will provide overall administrative leadership and operational and clinical management to directors, managers, and supervisors, with responsibility for operational and clinical excellence of oncology services and related programs.
You will oversee departmental functions across research, laboratory, imaging, infusion, pharmacy, nursing, and patient scheduling, and ensure appropriate staffing, equipment, and resources needed for optimal patient care and experience. You will also work collaboratively with Quality Improvement, Population Health, Utilization Management, Risk Management, and other medical network departments to maximize clinical performance, minimize risk, and support quality goals.

- Develop and manage capital and operating budgets and drive ongoing process improvement and efficiencies, including effective and innovative resource management, production standards, and development of new revenue sources.
- Develop business, provider, and programmatic expansion and operational plans in collaboration with leadership.
- Manage clinic operations to meet staffing and productivity targets.
- Oversee the implementation of new programs, initiatives, and policies consistent with maximizing revenue, reducing costs, and ensuring the highest quality of patient care and service.
- Oversee delivery of patient care and ensure optimal levels and continuous improvement of clinical and service quality; lead the design and organization of work and allocation of resources to achieve appropriate staffing levels, mix, and productivity levels.
- Create an empowering work climate that supports collaborative teamwork and problem solving; communicate values and expectations regarding quality and achieve measurable results in quality and provision of services in areas of responsibility.

Qualifications
Ideal person and requirements include the following:
- RN with oncology experience (outpatient experience preferred).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare, Management or related field (preferred).
- Master’s Degree in Healthcare, Management or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of progressive management responsibility in healthcare administration, including selection, development and retention of staff and promotion of collaborative teamwork.
- Minimum 5 years of strong provider and staff relations experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with full command (verbal and written) of the English language; ability to develop and deliver effective presentations; commitment to customer service and meeting the needs and expectations of colleagues and patients.
- Working knowledge of clinical quality, patient safety, regulatory and reimbursement context; ability to apply process improvement principles; commitment to safe, appropriate, ethical and evidence-based care and continuous improvement.
- Ability to analyze, project and adjust staffing; motivate, monitor, measure, recognize and improve performance and morale; address performance issues and implement corrective action plans; foster individual/team development through feedback, coaching and recognition; manage competing priorities while remaining adaptable and flexible and maintaining a positive work environment.
- Knowledge and ability to assess market opportunities, develop business plans, and implement programs to respond to such opportunities.
- Ability to work in an office environment, including frequent sitting, frequent continuous operation of a personal computer for four hours or more, and occasional standing/walking.
- Travel required for The Angeles Clinic and Research Institute (TACRI) across clinics in West Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and Marina del Rey.
