Position Overview
The Park Theatre, a newly built performing arts center with historic roots, seeks a visionary and dynamic Executive Director. The theatre features a 330-seat main auditorium and a 77-seat multi-functional auditorium. Our non‑profit organization strives to provide diverse, artistic, cultural, and community-focused experiences designed to entertain, educate, and inspire. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the board of directors on planning, setting, and implementing strategic priorities, and developing organizational policies that advance the Theatre’s mission.
Artistic & Programmatic Oversight: Curate diverse, high-quality programming including concerts, cinema, comedy, theatre, and interdisciplinary works. Support educational and outreach programs.
Fiscal Management: Develop and manage an annual budget ($650,000) which the Board then reviews and approves. Monitor financial performance to ensure fiscal responsibility and long-term sustainability.
Fundraising and Development: Lead fundraising efforts, including major gifts, grants, corporate sponsorships, and planned giving, to meet or exceed revenue goals. Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, foundations, regional businesses, and government agencies.
Operations and Administration: Manage day-to-day operations, including facility maintenance, health and safety compliance, and contractual agreements with artists and vendors.
Marketing and Community Engagement: Direct marketing and PR strategies to maximize audience development. Serve as the public face of the center.
Staff Management: Hire, train, and manage staff and contractors, fostering a positive and collaborative workplace.
Qualifications
- Experience : Senior leadership experience in a performing arts and/or cinema organization, nonprofit, or related field is preferred.
- Education : A Bachelor’s Degree. A focus in Arts Administration, Nonprofit Management, or Business is preferred.
- Skills :
- Exceptional leadership, organizational management, and team-building abilities.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and fundraising expertise.
- Outstanding communication and public speaking skills.
- Deep understanding of film and the performing arts landscape and trends.
- Ability to cultivate relationships with diverse stakeholders, including donors, artists, and community members.
- Technology skills, including video production and graphic design is preferred.
- Knowledge of theatrical equipment preferred.
