Executive Director, Damayan Migrant Workers Association

Executive DirectorDamayan seeks an individual that can align with and take ownership of Damayan's vision, mission, Theory of Change, strategies, and organizational values. The ideal new Executive Director (ED) will have a track record of community organizing, preferably dealing with workers and immigrant rights and labor and human trafficking. The position requires excellent leadership abilities and a strong interest in guiding development work, financial management, programs, coalition work, and overall operations.

In addition, the new ED will demonstrate linguistic ability and cultural sensitivity to listen to and engage with the Damayan members and the local Filipino community members in-person, when conditions permit. The new ED will be accountable to the Board and will work with the Board to ensure Damayan's strategic funding and sustainability.Responsibilities:Programs and Strategies - The ED will work with program staff to ensure service programs are connected to and promote Damayan's anti-labor trafficking campaign and programs.Development Work - The ED will partner with the Board and relevant staff to build its institutional and grassroots fundraising and ensure Damayan's sustainability.Financial Management – The ED will work with the Bookkeeper/ Accountant and Board Finance Committee to oversee financial planning, budgeting, and the implementation of Damayan's customized Financial Policies and Procedures.Human Resources Management - The ED will work with the Human Resources staff to foster a robust internal staff culture designed to promote staff development, morale, wellness, and retention. The ED will model applying an equity lens across the organization's HR practices.Qualifications:Strong commitment to Damayan's mission and Theory of ChangeClear and finely honed point of view around Filipino forced migration and labor trafficking of migrant workers.

Lived experience of and/ or directly impacted by labor trafficking is a plusMinimum of 5 years of on-the-ground experience as a community organizerA commitment to fostering a culture of staff trust, empowerment, and team developmentEffective interpersonal skills and genuine comfort working with individuals and groups representing the diversity of our communityAbility to work with and develop strong Board leadershipStrong communicator and relationship-builderAbility to lead and grow the financial health and sustainability of Damayan, including the ability to develop a strong understanding of existing and potential funding opportunitiesExperience around financial management and budgeting and/or an ability to grow this as a competencyAbility to understand and speak TagalogTo apply, please send your resume and a cover letter explaining why you would be a great fit for this role.
