The Opportunity
This is not a maintenance role.
It is a build, scale, and lead mandate .
As Executive Director, you will shape the next chapter of conservation finance by:
- Driving a new multi-year strategic vision
- Expanding a national network of practitionersIncreasing visibility and influence across the sector
You are not just managing programs. You are engineering a movement .
What You’ll Do
- Lead organizational direction and execution of CFN’s strategic vision
- Align staff, programs, and partnerships with long-term priorities
- Design and execute fundraising strategy for a $600K-$850K budget
- Secure multi-year, six-figure grants and expand funding streams
Coalition Building
- Engage a diverse network of stakeholders across sectors
- Strengthen participation and belonging within the CFN ecosystem
Program Oversight
- Guide training programs, convenings, and knowledge-sharing initiatives
- Identify new partnerships and expansion opportunities
- Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and resource allocation
- Coordinate with Multiplier on financial operations
Thought Leadership
- Represent CFN publicly through speaking, writing, and industry engagement
- Track and elevate emerging trends in conservation finance
Communication
- Oversee newsletters, publications, and stakeholder updates
- Amplify impact stories across the network

- Proven nonprofit leadership experience

Preferred Background
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Advanced degree in finance, environmental studies, or related disciplineExperience in conservation finance or adjacent sectorsTrack record in strategic planning and program leadershipExperience managing partnerships across public, private, and nonprofit sectors
