Responsibilities
Culinary Leadership
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and execution.
- Maintain recipes, portion control, and food safety standards.
- Develop menu features and improve kitchen systems.
- Manage food and labor costs within company goals.
- Control waste, inventory, purchasing, and vendor relationships.
- Create efficient staff schedules and maximize productivity.
- Hire, train, coach, and develop kitchen staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and teamwork.
- Conduct performance evaluations and address disciplinary matters when necessary.
- Oversee all daily kitchen operations, including prep, service, ordering, inventory, equipment maintenance, and opening/closing procedures.
- Maintain an organized, efficient, and well-stocked kitchen.
- Ensure the kitchen consistently exceeds health department standards.
- Enforce sanitation procedures, food handling practices, and daily cleaning responsibilities.
- Communicate regularly with ownership regarding financial performance, staffing, operational improvements, maintenance needs, and menu development.
- Demonstrate accountability, transparency, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Three years experience at an upscale or fine dining restaurant.
- The Executive Chef is expected to lead with integrity, professionalism, urgency, and respect while creating an environment that supports both employee success and business profitability.
