Responsibilities
- Prepare rough drafts and proofread before finalizing legal documents.
- Open new files, perform conflict checks, and at the attorney's request, draft an acknowledgment or engagement letter to the client.
- Utilize proper discovery and document production procedures to ensure an accurate copy of documents produced is retained and available for future reference.
- Maintains attorney calendar by denoting due dates for answers, depositions, and other pleadings, hearings, trial calendars, etc.
- Ensures exact compliance with client guidelines relating to preparation and mailing of cc/bcc, copying of documents, and other client requirements.
- Prepares files or assists paralegals in preparing files for upcoming hearings and depositions.
