Job Description
The proctor oversees students taking required exams and ensures they comply with exam protocol, including:
- Ensuring students use the appropriate computer with the required software.
- Conveying test instructions clearly.
- Restricting liquid consumption to water only.
- Following proper procedures for bathroom breaks and timely exit from the exam area.
- Confirming that exams are completed correctly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Competencies
- Resourceful and technically astute to troubleshoot computer issues.
- Strong computer knowledge.
- Effective communicator.
- Professionalism – a positive ambassador/representative of the Warren Alpert Medical School.
- Calm, relaxed demeanor with anxious students; psychologically and emotionally mature.
- Highly responsible for securing and maintaining NBME National testing standards and Examsoft protocol.
- Responsible for scheduling proctoring times and dates.
- Resilient enough to be flexible when students reschedule due to illness.
