The Heroic Tail is a growing San Diego-based dog rescue dedicated to helping dogs find the loving homes and second chances they deserve. We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Volunteer Event Coordinator to join our team and help expand our presence throughout the San Diego community.
This is a great opportunity for someone who loves dogs, enjoys connecting with people, and wants to play an important role in helping a growing nonprofit organization expand its community partnerships, fundraising opportunities, and adoption events.
What You’ll Do
As our Volunteer Event Coordinator, you will help identify and develop opportunities for The Heroic Tail to participate in fundraising, adoption, and community events throughout San Diego County.
Responsibilities may include:
- Proactively researching local businesses, organizations, community groups, and venues that may be interested in partnering with The Heroic Tail
- Reaching out to potential partners by phone and email
- Identifying opportunities for fundraising events, adoption events, community events, and other partnerships
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with businesses and community organizations
- Coordinating event opportunities with members of The Heroic Tail team
- Helping maintain a calendar of upcoming events and potential partnerships
- Following up with prospective partners and helping move opportunities from initial contact to confirmed events
- Sharing new ideas for events and partnerships that can help our rescue grow
We’re Looking for Someone Who
- Is passionate about helping dogs and supporting animal rescue
- Is comfortable contacting businesses and organizations by phone and email
- Is proactive and willing to take initiative rather than waiting for opportunities to come to us
- Has strong communication and organizational skills
- Is dependable and able to follow through on commitments
- Enjoys networking and building relationships
- Works well as part of a collaborative team
- Is excited about being part of a growing organization and helping shape its future
- Can commit approximately 2-4 hours per week for at least 6 months
This position is primarily remote , although there may be opportunities to attend events in the San Diego area if interested.
