Power Business AnalystThe Power Business Analyst will be responsible for eliciting, defining, and managing business requirements from Power business stakeholders using structured business analysis tools, techniques, and methodologies, to ensure that delivered Innovation and Engineering (I&E) solutions successfully meet the expectations of the stakeholders. Additionally, the ability to perform analysis and data troubleshooting to help inform support activities for the power trading & risk management systems is expected.Work Experience10+ years of direct functional and technical experienceRequirement (Key Responsibilities)Provide subject matter expertise related to the North & South American power markets and Independent Service Operators (ISOs), as well as power, gas, & emissions/renewables trading in said markets, to share insight with the broader I&E teams supporting those businesses and marketsProvide subject matter expertise on regulatory reporting instruments and how those rules apply to the North American power markets with a focus on Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Electric Quarterly Reports (EQR)Elicit key requirements from stakeholders needed to meet stated business objectives and document those requirements in a form readily usable by delivery teams to aid in the delivery of and enhancements to key I&E solutions supporting the power trading businessValidate the successful delivery of software by comparing delivered functionality to the key requirements to determine if the resulting solution meets the expectations of the stakeholdersParticipate as a member of Agile delivery teams focusing on delivery I&E solutions and continuous improvementParticipate in analysis and remediation efforts during incident responses with a focus on working in a disciplined and logical manner to restore I&E systems and services in a rapid and controlled mannerValidate that required data is being loaded successfully and on time, including manual and automated download processesDevelop a strong working relationship with business end-users to understand key business drivers, pain points and prioritiesSupport the delivery of process and system improvements, working with team members to identify continuous improvement plansPerform special tasks, projects and assignments as assignedComply with BP's Code of Conduct and models BP's Values & BehavioursDesired QualificationsDemonstrated experience with load forecasting modelsDemonstrated experience with pricing modelsDemonstrated experience with risk managementDemonstrated experience with billing platforms is requiredKnowledge of ISO/RTO processes and procedures is requiredDemonstrated experience with Oracle queries is requiredPrior experience with implementing technological and data-driven solutionsShould have experience in system integration best practices specifically for power operations (scheduling / ISO integration / Meter Management)Should have experience in system integration best practices specifically with wholesale Energy Trading Risk Management (ETRM) systems and curve repositoriesBehaviors and SkillsExperience working with business users to determine overall future state business processes and creating an achievable delivery approachEvidence of successful complex, high profile projects to ensure all streams of work, interdependencies, and requirements for each are understood by all stakeholdersAble to meet deadlines with limited supervision and work well under pressureAbility to perform at a high level in an Agile environmentExcellent team working skillsEducational QualificationBachelor degree
