Data EngineerWe are currently seeking a Data Engineer for a hybrid position (3 days per week onsite) with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role is responsible for developing and delivering complex data solutions to meet technology and business goals.
The ideal candidate will code, design, and deliver tasks associated with the integration, cleaning, transformation of data in operational and analytics systems. You will build processes supporting data transformation and define data pipelines that enable faster, data-informed decision-making.Responsibilities:Develop and deliver data solutions to accomplish technology and business goalsCode design and delivery tasks associated with the integration, cleaning, transformation and control of data in operational and analytics data systemsWork with stakeholders, Product Owners, and Software Engineers to aid in the implementation of data requirements, performance analysis, research and troubleshootingContribute to story refinement and defining requirementsAssemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional requirementsBuild processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, data quality controls, dependency and workload managementDefine and build data pipelines that enable faster, better, data-informed decision-making within the businessContribute to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance), analyze test reports, and identify and triage any test issues/errorsDocument and communicate required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionalityAdhere to team delivery/release process and cadence pertaining to code deployment and releaseRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field5+ years of hands on development and implementation experience with any ETL tool5+ years of development experience in Oracle, SQL Server4+ years in Data Warehouse / Data Mart / Data Mining/ Business Intelligence4+ years of experience with BI and Analytic tools – Tableau, Oracle BIProficient with both Linux shell scripting and Oracle SQL / PLSQLStrong understanding of data visualization concepts used to identify trends that lead to actionable insightsExperience designing tables and assessing relationships of database systems, including performance tuning, database design, and data modelsDemonstrated data skills with large data stores, comfort with navigating and connecting disparate data sourcesAbility to present technical concepts to senior level business stakeholdersAnalytical and problem-solving skillsImpeccable communication skills – verbal and writtenExperience in working in a global technology development modelDesired skills:Preferred ETL tool: Informatica 10.x or aboveExposure and experience to No SQL Databases (Mongo, Cassandra, Elastic, Marklogic, etc.)
