What You’ll Do
What You’ll Be Doing
As an Estimator, you’ll lead preconstruction efforts on a variety of exciting projects across sectors like Healthcare, Life Sciences, and Tenant Improvements. You’ll be the go-to for all things estimating — from reviewing early sketches to submitting full proposals and working directly with clients and trade partners. You’ll also help mentor team members and work closely with our operations team to ensure a smooth handoff into construction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop complete and accurate project estimates and budgets
- Perform quantity takeoffs and detailed document reviews
- Manage subcontractor solicitations and bid processes
- Analyze subcontractor proposals for scope compliance and completeness
- Assemble final estimate packages and presentations
- Support project buyout activities and subcontract creation
- Coordinate turnover packages for project teams
- Maintain cost databases and unit pricing information
- Participate in project pursuit efforts and client presentations
- Collaborate with MEP specialists on highly technical projects
- Attend weekly and monthly project and estimating meetings
- Support design-build project delivery processes
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
- 5+ years of construction industry experience
- 2+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods, materials, and sequencing
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
Technical Skills
- Perform takeoffs across multiple trades to fully understand project scope
- Evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids for completeness and compliance
- Identify design gaps, conflicts, and constructability concerns
- Resolve issues proactively through collaboration with design teams, owners, engineers, and trade partners
- Analyze project risks and develop comprehensive cost strategies
