Role Description

This is a full-time, hybrid Estimator role based in Sheboygan, WI, with the flexibility to work remotely approximately 80% of the time. As an Estimator at Quasius Construction, you’ll play a critical role in our company’s success by providing accurate and timely construction estimates for a diverse portfolio of commercial building projects.

Job Requirements and Responsibilities: 

• Review project plans, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents to understand project requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop accurate estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project costs.
• Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure complete and competitive coverage.
• Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, project risks, and opportunities for value engineering.
• Prepare detailed estimates, budgets, and competitive bid proposals within established deadlines.
• Maintain current knowledge of labor, material, subcontractor, and market pricing.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, design professionals, and other project partners.
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members on project approach, scheduling, logistics, and constructability.
• Participate in project turnover following award to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to construction.

Estimator Qualifications/Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of experience estimating commercial construction projects.
• Demonstrated ability to independently develop complete and accurate construction estimates from plans and specifications.
•  Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, costs, and processes.
•  Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
•  Proficiency with construction estimating and takeoff software.
•  Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
•  Ability to work independently, manage multiple estimates and deadlines, and take ownership of work from start to finish.
•  Strong organizational skills with a high degree of reliability and accountability.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements

• BS/BA in construction management or relevant discipline
• Minimum 5+ years of demonstrated experience in commercial construction estimation
