Estimator/Project ManagerEstimator/Project Manager to support our Lakeside, California Operations.Job Duties:The duties for this position will include and not limited to the following:Prepare cost estimates for projects in their category or categories, including the following:Review of RFx instructions & project plan documentsQuantity takeoff for self-performed and subcontracted workRequesting of subcontractor and material quotesSelection of vendorsEntry of relevant information into bid preparation software,Reviewing with operations staffPreparation of bid documents for submission to the client, including work plans and schedulesTechnical and business written deliverables, and pricing sheetsFollowing through on submissionsManage ongoing work which is awarded as a result of estimates prepared by that individualBeing responsible for project documentation (submittals, RFIs, notices), ongoing client business deliverables (schedules, billing, notices), and official client communication.Other duties as assignedThis position is in the Estimator/Project Manager role in the Estimating department, and promotion or advancement opportunities exist for individuals interested in advancing to a more responsible position over time.Minimum Qualifications:Qualified candidates must possess the following special skills and or requirements to be considered for this position.Demonstrated understanding of technical methodology for the preparation of cost estimates for construction (either by recent experience in applicable job or through skills test).Expert user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Standard EnglishDemonstrates attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughnessAbility to meet deadlines and complete work in a timely mannerMaintains confidentiality at all timesGreat communication skills both written and verbalContributes to building a positive work environmentEducation and/or Experience:4 Year degree from an accredited college or university & 4 Years Work Experience OR 8 Years Work Experience in a directly related role in this or a similar industry requiredDegree in Business Management, Project Management, Communications, English, Humanities, Construction Engineering or Management, or Allied Fields preferredExperience working with public utilities in Southern California, especially SDG&E, SCE, SCG, SWG, IID, LADWP, City of Riverside, or City of Long Beach preferredExperience with Heavy Construction Software Suite – HeavyBid preferredExperience with Heavy Construction Software Suite HeavyJob and Safety preferredExperience with Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6 preferredExperience with Sage 300/Timberline &/or Sage Paperless preferredExperience with Agtek or Autodesk preferredCompany Benefits:The following benefits options are available to eligible employeesPaid vacation, holiday and sick time401K (with company contribution match)Health Benefits packet includes:Multiple medical and dental plan optionsVoluntary vision, life, and AD&D plansAflacEmployee Assistance Program
