Position Overview: As a Refinery Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase of refinery projects. You will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, analyzing project requirements, and collaborating with various teams to develop competitive and comprehensive project bids. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in refinery construction, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
  1. Project Scope Analysis:
    • Conduct thorough reviews of project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to understand the scope of work.
    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements and specifications.
  2. Cost Estimation:
    • Prepare detailed cost estimates for refinery projects, considering factors such as materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
    • Utilize industry-standard estimating tools and software to ensure accuracy and consistency in estimates.
    • Research and analyze historical data and market trends to support cost assumptions.
  3. Bid Preparation:
    • Develop and compile comprehensive bid proposals, including cost breakdowns, project schedules, and other relevant information.
    • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure alignment between project estimates and company objectives.
  4. Vendor and Subcontractor Relations:
    • Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
    • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors, negotiating favorable terms and conditions.
  5. Risk Analysis:
    • Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with project estimates and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
    • Work closely with project teams to assess and address risk factors during the estimating process.
  6. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all estimating activities.
    • Prepare and present reports to management, highlighting key aspects of project estimates and potential areas for improvement.
