Blayze Group is partnering with an established commercial General Contractor looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to its Alexandria team.

The business has a strong presence across Louisiana and a proven track record of delivering commercial construction projects. This opportunity would suit an Estimator with a strong General Contractor background who is comfortable managing the full estimating process, developing accurate budgets and working closely with subcontractors to ensure projects are priced effectively.

The Role

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for commercial construction projects
• Manage the estimating process from initial review through final bid submission
• Complete quantity takeoffs and assess drawings, specifications and project requirements
• Coordinate subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure competitive bids
• Review and compare subcontractor proposals, identifying discrepancies and scope gaps
• Evaluate labor, material and general conditions costs
• Work closely with Preconstruction Managers, Project Managers and operations teams
• Support bid preparation, value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
• Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers throughout the bidding process

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
• Previous experience working for a commercial General Contractor strongly preferred
• Experience estimating ground-up commercial construction projects
• Strong understanding of construction costs, materials, methods and subcontractor scopes
• Ability to independently manage estimates and coordinate multiple bids
• Experience with competitive bidding, negotiated projects and preconstruction budgeting
• Proficiency with Excel and estimating software such as Bluebeam or On-Screen Takeoff
• Strong attention to detail, communication and organisational skills
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline preferred, although relevant experience will be considered
