A law firm seeks an associate attorney for its Estate, Trust, and Probate Litigation practice group in Columbus, Ohio. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop a niche practice in both litigation and transactional matters within the growing field of probate.
Duties
- Manage and assist with probate litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
- Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and other proceedings.
- Conduct legal research and prepare written memoranda.
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
- Collaborate with partners and other associates on case strategy.
- Handle estate administrations as the fiduciary or the attorney for fiduciary.
- Draft estate planning documents.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Ohio.
- 0-4 years of experience as an attorney.
- Prior experience with probate, estate planning, estate administration, guardianships, or real estate law preferred but not required.
- Prior litigation experience preferred but not required.
Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Certifications
Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio.
