Join an established outpatient oncology practice with FirstHealth of the Carolinas . We are seeking a compassionate Hematologist/Oncologist to become part of our dedicated cancer care team in Sanford, North Carolina. This is a rewarding opportunity to practice in a collaborative, patient-focused environment—without the burden of inpatient call.

About the Opportunity

  • Outpatient-only schedule—no inpatient consults or hospital rounds.
  • Established referral base with consistent patient flow.
  • Team-based care supported by an experienced NP, RN, CMA, and full admin staff.
  • Infusion suite on site with chemo-certified nurses.
  • Access to system-wide support including specialty pharmacy, nurse navigators, and integrative medicine.
  • Participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards for collaborative case reviews.
  • Clinical trials support available if interested; program received the Gold Seal Award from SCOR and NCI.
  • Benefit from resources of the new ACoS accredited FirstHealth Cancer Center in Pinehurst—a state-of-the-art, 120,000-square-foot facility offering fully integrated oncology care.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an ACGME- or AOA-approved residency and fellowship program and board certification.
  • Clean background, unrestricted NC medical licensure, NC DEA and AHA BLS certification.
  • Leadership skills desired, although not a formal leadership role.
