Qualifications
Ability to read, write and speak English, and one or more languages preferably. Minimum 48 hours of college credit, associate degree, or completion of the Para Pro Exam. Interest in and respect for a variety of cultures. Must be able to work effectively with several teachers and students at different grade levels, and at various content areas.
Functions and Responsibilities
Assist teachers with providing instruction to students who have been identified as English Language Learners. Assist teachers in establishing a positive learning environment, based on the individual needs of students. Assist with school-community communication by translating and interpreting. React to change proactively and handle other tasks as assigned. Support the philosophy and mission of USD 250. Communicates effectively with all members of the school district and community. Performing other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions
Requires frequent standing, walking and handling. Requires occasional sitting, crouching, crawling, balancing, feeling, stooping and stairs. Must be able to lift, carry and push/pull 20-50 pounds.
