Emergency Room Technical AssistantAs an Emergency Room Technical Assistant, you'll work side-by-side with nurses and providers to deliver timely, compassionate care during critical moments. Under direct supervision, you'll assist with procedures, perform vital tasks, and help ensure smooth operations in one of the hospital's most dynamic environments. Our 20-bed facility offers an easy-access emergency room, full-service laboratory, quick-fill pharmacy, radiology services, diagnostic sleep center, outpatient surgery, and care from top physicians and specialists.What You'll Do: Your day-to-day impact includes:Assist with patient assessments, exams, and treatmentsPerform clinical tasks such as:Drawing blood & collecting specimensPerforming EKGsApplying splints or immobilizersTaking vital signs (adult and pediatric)Inserting NG tubes, urethral cathetersStarting and discontinuing IVs (as applicable)Prepare and assist with procedures including suturing, casting, pelvic exams, lumbar punctures, and moreRecognize abnormal vitals or dysrhythmias and alert the RN/Provider immediatelyProvide patient and family support with professionalism and empathyMaintain equipment and supplies; clean and prepare rooms between patientsEnsure compliance with safety, infection control, and hospital standardsEducation/Experience Required:· High School Diploma or GED required· BCLS Certification required· Previous experience in an Emergency Department or acute care setting is a strong plus· One of the following is required at time of hire· Basic EMT certification· Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant, nursing, or MD program· One year of Emergency Room Technical experience· EMT license preferred· Ability to successfully complete a 180-day orientation programCertifications/Licensures Required:Must meet one of the following criteria:Basic EMT (B-EMT) certificationGraduate of a formal Medical Assistant programCompletion of a formal nursing education programCompletion of a formal medical doctor education programOROne (1) year of applicable Emergency Room Technical experience (Must complete one of the above certifications/programs within 12 months of hire)Additional Requirements:EMT license preferredSuccessful completion of a 180-day orientation period is required
