• Location: Presque Isle, Maine (04769) – Aroostook County
• Assignment Type: Travel Nurse / Locum Tenens
• Setting: Emergency Department (11-bed ED with trauma and behavioral health rooms)
• Facility Type: Teaching Hospital
• Start Date: September 1, 2025
• End Date: November 29, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours per Week: 36 (12-hour rotating shifts; days, nights, and mid-shifts 10a-10p)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Charting System: FirstNet EMR
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1880–$2020 per week
• Benefits: Free parking and onsite gym for healthcare staff
  

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Maine or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room (ER) or Emergency Department nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• TNCC and NRP certifications preferred
• Proficient in EKGs, IV starts, TNKase administration, nebulizer treatments, initiating Bipap, suture removal, casting assistance, and ventilator management
• Charge nurse or leadership experience is a plus (please indicate on your application)
• Comfortable providing care to patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics
• First-time travel nurses are encouraged to apply!
  

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced Emergency Department
• Assess, triage, and manage patients with a broad range of conditions, including trauma, stroke, STEMI, and behavioral health emergencies
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including ED providers, mid-levels, hospitalists, technicians, and support staff
• Perform and assist with clinical procedures such as EKGs, IV starts, medication administration, nebulizer treatments, suture removal, and casting
• Utilize FirstNet EMR for accurate charting and documentation
• Participate in hospital and unit orientation; maintain a professional appearance (scrubs of any color permitted)
• Adhere to hospital policies and contribute to a positive, team-oriented healthcare environment
