ER RN Job Details – Houston, Texas
- Location: Houston, TX 77090
- Setting: Freestanding Emergency Department (9 beds)
- Start Date: September 22, 2025
- End Date: December 22, 2025
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Minimum 2 weekend shifts every 2 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1680-$1730
ER Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- At least 2 years of recent experience in a main Emergency Room (ER) setting
- Experience in a designated trauma facility required
- Current BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, and NRP certifications
- Proficiency with Lucas Device, Nurse-run Lab, Ventilator, CPAP/BiPAP, Blanketrol, and Lifepack 15 preferred
- Experience with lab equipment (Picolo, Istat, Triage Meter, ID Now, Clinitek) is a plus
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to manage high-acuity patients with limited staff
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
ER Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver emergency nursing care to patients in a 9-bed freestanding ER
- Assist with and perform procedures: chest tube placement, intubations, conscious sedation, wound repair, splinting, nebulizer treatments, and ventilator management
- Operate and troubleshoot emergency and laboratory equipment
- Collaborate with a small team of ER nurses to ensure excellent patient care and efficient department operations
- Maintain accurate electronic documentation using Meditech EMR
- Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in a high-acuity, fast-paced healthcare environment
