About this Role

Neuberger Berman is seeking an experienced Equity Research Analyst specializing in Impact Investing to join the firm’s Equity Impact team as a Vice President. This is an integral role within a team dedicated to delivering attractive investment performance and progress against client impact objectives through listed equity portfolios covering US and Global markets. The position is designed for an experienced professional in investment research, investment banking, asset management, or accounting/valuation with an entrepreneurial attitude and demonstrated interest in sustainable outcomes. The successful candidate will work closely with senior portfolio managers and contribute fundamental research, company coverage, and sustainability responsibilities to support the investment team’s strategic objectives. The analyst will be a member of the investment research team contributing to stock selection alongside senior portfolio managers while reporting to Senior Vice Presidents on the team. Collaboration with the firm’s Global Equity Research and Data Science groups will provide in-depth company, sector, and macro expertise to identify investment recommendations and emerging industry trends. The role employs a disciplined investment approach centered on deep, fundamental research on a universe of companies generating sustainable outcomes. The team leverages strong relationships with management teams, conducts primary research and field work to substantiate investment theses, and coordinates with colleagues investing across the capital structure to develop a comprehensive understanding of investment recommendations. This entrepreneurial position offers the opportunity to shape portfolio construction and strategy implementation through quality research insights and recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Drive stock selection via research coverage and investment recommendations
• Conduct fundamental and sustainability due diligence on potential investments
• Generate investment ideas and contribute to idea generation processes
• Engage with portfolio holdings and report on sustainable outcomes
• Provide unique research insights to portfolio managers with opportunity to influence position sizing, risk assessment, and diversification
• Monitor portfolio exposures and contribute to risk management
• Conduct financial modeling and valuation analysis
• Maintain regular communication with management teams, industry experts, and sell-side analysts
• Conduct field research to substantiate investment theses
• Collaborate on portfolio construction and stock selection with senior portfolio managers
• Contribute to identifying emerging industry trends and investment themes

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of investment banking, sell-side or buy-side research experience in equities
• Strong fundamental research skills including deep-dive company analysis, financial modeling, valuation, and industry/competitive assessments
• Prior experience or strong demonstrated interest in sustainable investing with familiarity of industry frameworks and terminology
• Strong analytical and presentation skills with excellent verbal and written communication ability to convey complex information succinctly
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects and multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and follow-through
• Ability to provide strong personal and professional references
• Curious and intellectually honest with strong commercial instinct and demonstrated interest in equity markets
• Enjoys collaborative projects and being part of a team building an innovative business
• Proficient to advanced skills with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Authorization to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship
• FINRA series qualifications and professional certifications such as CFA are helpful
