Equipment Tech SupervisorFarr West, UTJob Summary:Equipment Tech Supervisor oversees the personnel that maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots the technical CNC equipment. Lead team members to continually improve quality, safety, and efficiency of the equipment. They lead technical staff, manage work orders, implement safety standards, and coordinate with vendors. Typical requirements include years of experience in repairing CNC equipment, strong leadership skills, and technical knowledge of CNC machines.Essential Functions:Supervise all operations and equipment tech personnelMaintain a safe work environmentOrganize and prioritize maintenance calls and preventive maintenance work ordersHire, train, and support new employeesDocument employee records (times, certificates, status, disciplinary actions, terminations, retirements, etc.)Monitor quality of workmanshipHelp communicate company clarity and visionDrive team focus and a culture of continuous improvementMaintain team discipline through company policies and team resiliencyProvide team engagement through training and problem solvingProvide support to the team with technical knowledge of CNC machinery, mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and pneumatic systemsProvide support with blueprints reading, specification clarity, using precision instrumentation and hand toolsBusiness aptitude to communicate in meetings and relay pertinent information to othersKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of ball screws, gear boxes, radial and linear bearings, machine ways, and gibsKnowledge of hydraulic pumps, accumulators, hoses and fittings, valves and solenoids, pressure switches, gauges, and lube systemsKnowledge of electrical and controls, IO, limit switches, proximity switches, contactor, overloads, relays, ladder logic, parameters, and machine language M & G codesMinimum Requirements:1-5 years of experience with CNC controllers: specifically, Fanuc, Siemens, and Allen Bradley3-5 years of leadership experience managing a team of 5 or more3-5 years of experience working with preventive maintenance systemsEssential Mental Functions:Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with all levels of the organization and react favorably in all situations. Must be able to work odd hours/schedule. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment, and machinery, i.e. forklift, truck, cranes. Requires normal range of hearing and vision to operate machinery, and to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Will require steel toe shoes/boots.
Requires working under stressful conditions.
