This role ensures accuracy, quality, and compliance with safety protocols while supporting overall warehouse operations.
The position contributes to maintaining an organized workflow by performing material handling tasks and assisting with additional duties as needed.General Description of Duties:Reads work orders, shipping orders, or follows verbal/written instructions from lead, supervisor, or managerTransports, loads, and unloads materials and products to designated areas using powered industrial equipment, including powered lift trucks, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, and other specialized machinery/tools, including the utilization of pallets, hand trucks, carts, dollies, shelving, and other devicesAttaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containersProvides customer service to customers picking-up and/or returning their products and ensures safety, quality, and accuracy in all customer interactionsIf needed, provide assistance with warehouse associate job functions as instructed by leadershipIdentifies safety issues and is aware of and responsible for following all safety processes, including safe machine operation, safety harness requirements, and other PPE requirementsQualifications:Safety conscious approach to all activitiesAbility to safely lift 50 pounds while loading/unloading furniture and operating powered equipment, hand trucks, and cartsWork as a part of a cooperative team where the members may change frequentlyAbility to assemble all Morris Home Furnishings productsAbility to quickly move your hands and arms to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects when handling, installing, positioning, or moving furnitureExperience working with/around powered equipment, warehouse machinery, and hand/power tool preferredRequirements:High School Diploma or equivalent1-3 years experience in a warehouse or distribution environmentSuccessful completion of required safety and machine operation trainingWork Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
