Equipment EngineerThe Equipment Engineer reports to the Maintenance Manager. Designs, builds, develops, and modifies equipment and processes to achieve safety, quality, scrap and cost targets.Essential Functions:Identify and execute solutions for improvements in safety, quality, productivity and costsDesign and prepare drawings of new equipment or modifications to existing equipment for improvementsDesign, develop and build equipment for new processes and evaluate and modify existing equipment as neededAssist in maintenance and improvement of all equipmentReduce process cost while improving product quality through equipment kaizensProvide equipment engineering support to other departments as they require itDevelop engineering plans and designs to manufacture products in a safe and efficient mannerAssist Engineers to develop and maintain quality sensors and poka yokesPrepare engineering drawings, cost estimates, manufacturing reports, and minor designsWork with outside suppliers and contractors to achieve SRK-OH equipment specificationsAnalyze quotations and bids and develop recommendations for new equipmentHelp to analyze customer claims and concerns to determine root causes and make or recommend countermeasuresOther Responsibilities and Job Information:Modify equipment and equipment programming to implement new productsHelp maintain and improve equipment reliability and uptimeImprove safety, quality, productivity, and costReview and modify the plant equipment layout to make efficient use of floor space and improve material flowTravel as required, sometimes on short noticeAssociates at all levels must maintain their Roles and Responsibilities as outlined within SRK-OH's policies and procedures to ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO9001 and ISO 14001. These industry standards are necessary to ensure continued Customer Satisfaction in relationship with our philosophy of Continuous Quality Improvement.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering or 4 years' experience in a manufacturing process with an equipment or maintenance backgroundGood communication skillsGood computer skills, including Office, CAD and PLC programmingUnderstanding of mechanical movement, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systemsAbility to read part drawings as well as equipment drawings and schematicsExperience in automotive component manufacturingKnowledge of material handling principles and equipment; parts manufacturing equipment and processes; automated and manual assembly processes; tooling and fixture design; engineering mechanics; drafting; heat transfer; electrics and electronics; hydraulics; pneumatics; control system principles and equipment
