CHS Illinois in Shipman, IL is looking for a Seasonal Truck Driver to join the team! This individual would help support during our fall harvest (now-mid Dec), hauling fertilizer, liquid chemical, and anhydrous (if has applicable endorsements). The ideal candidate would have a Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements or willing to obtain and have the ability to work M-Sat 10-12 hours days (flexibility with schedule). This is a great opportunity to get some extra cash in a short period of time. Operate a semi‑tractor and trailer and or straight truck to deliver products to customers in the area in a safe and timely manner.
Load and unload product as required, including connecting and disconnecting trailers for product transfer, and follow safety protocols for handling products
Prepare and complete delivery documentation and daily load/unload reports; Provide professional customer service during pickups and deliveries and maintain positive customer interactions
Drive in accordance with DOT regulations, company policies, and compliance requirements
Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, and report maintenance, safety, or equipment concerns promptly. Report accidents, incidents, near misses, and equipment issues; Provide informal guidance and support to fellow drivers as needed regarding routes, equipment operation, and safety practices
Valid Class A or Class B CDL (as required for the equipment/route)
Have a minimum of 1 year of verifiable CDL driving experience
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
Demonstrate the ability to operate independently in a high‑skill driving role, including managing complex routes or delivery requirements
Demonstrated safe-driving performance and ability to make sound safety decisions in changing weather and road conditions
Strong customer service skills and a history of positive customer feedback
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
Ability to safely climb in and out of truck cabs and trailers
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions; travel and time away from home as required by the schedule
Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
