This Epidemiologist III position in the Epidemiology Section leads surveillance, response, reporting, and analysis of health issues in rural populations and develops targeted interventions to improve well-being for rural communities. The role collaborates with staff across multiple epidemiology offices and participates in on-call rotation and State Health Operations Center response.
Key qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Life, Physical, Health Science, or related field
- Three years experience using epidemiological methods to identify, study, and control communicable, chronic, or environmental diseases
- Three years experience designing, conducting, and analyzing epidemiologic studies
- Three years experience designing and using surveillance systems to monitor public health problems
- Six months experience in inferential statistics and preparing statistical summaries
- Knowledge of staff supervision or direct supervisory experience
