Job Description:
The Epic Revenue Cycle Manager leads the strategy, build, optimization, and support of Epic's Revenue Cycle applications (Resolute Hospital Billing, Resolute Professional Billing, HB/PB Claims, Cadence, Prelude, and/or HIM as applicable) across the health system. This role bridges IT and operational Revenue Cycle leadership, managing a team of analysts and serving as the primary escalation point for system performance, workflow optimization, and regulatory compliance within the revenue cycle applications portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Epic-certified analysts responsible for build, testing, and support of Revenue Cycle modules (HB/PB, Claims, Contracts, Cadence, Prelude)
- Own the roadmap for revenue cycle system optimization, partnering with CFO/Revenue Cycle operations leadership to align IT priorities with financial performance goals
- Manage upgrade cycles, including regression testing, workflow validation, and end-user training coordination
- Serve as escalation point for high-severity incidents impacting claims processing, charge capture, or cash flow
- Oversee governance of change control, ticket prioritization, and vendor (Epic) relationship management for assigned applications
- Partner with Compliance and HIM on regulatory changes (payer rules, CMS updates, coding/billing regulations) and ensure timely system updates
- Manage staffing plans, including build vs. buy decisions for contract/consulting support during go-lives, M&A integrations, or major upgrades
- Report key performance metrics (days in A/R, denial rates, claim edit volumes) tied to system performance to executive stakeholders
- Support new facility onboarding, acquisitions, or consolidations requiring Revenue Cycle Epic builds
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Business, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in Epic Revenue Cycle applications, with at least 2 years in a leadership/management capacity
- Epic certification(s) in Resolute Hospital Billing and/or Resolute Professional Billing required; additional certifications (Claims, Cadence, Prelude) preferred
- Deep understanding of healthcare revenue cycle workflows: registration, charge capture, claims submission, denials management, and cash posting
- Experience managing system upgrades, optimizations, or go-lives in a hospital/health system environment
- Strong knowledge of payer requirements, CMS regulations, and healthcare billing compliance
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and communicate with both technical and executive stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multi-entity or multi-EMR consolidation projects (e.g., legacy system to Epic conversions)
- Familiarity with related financial systems integration (Oracle Fusion, Workday, Lawson) in an ERP-to-EHR data flow context
- Prior consulting or system-selection experience
- PMP or Lean/Six Sigma certification a plus
