Epic Billing AnalystOur client is seeking an Epic Billing Analyst to support the configuration, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of Epic Resolute Professional Billing (PB) and/or Hospital Billing (HB) modules. This role plays a critical part in revenue cycle performance by ensuring accurate charge capture, claims processing, reimbursement workflows, and regulatory compliance.The Epic Billing Analyst partners with IT, revenue cycle, and finance stakeholders to translate business requirements into system solutions that improve billing accuracy, operational efficiency, and financial outcomes.System Configuration and OptimizationConfigure and maintain Epic Resolute Professional Billing (PB) and/or Hospital Billing (HB) modulesManage charge router rules, workqueue configuration, benefit engine functionality, claims processing workflows, statement processing, and payment integrationsBuild, test, validate, and migrate system changes using established change control proceduresMonitor system performance and recommend enhancements to improve billing accuracy and efficiencyWorkflow Analysis and Process ImprovementAnalyze revenue cycle workflows, data collection processes, and reporting structuresIdentify inefficiencies and implement system-based solutions to optimize billing operationsEnsure alignment between system configuration and operational best practicesSupport compliance with regulatory standards including ICD-10 and other healthcare billing requirementsSupport and TroubleshootingServe as primary support contact for Epic billing end usersTroubleshoot application issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actionsProvide technical assistance to billing staff, finance teams, and other stakeholdersParticipate in a rotating on-call schedule supporting a 24/7 production environmentImplementation and UpgradesLead or support implementation of new Epic billing features or modulesParticipate in system upgrades, enhancements, and regulatory transitionsReview release notes and assess operational impact of Epic updatesEnsure proper testing and validation prior to production deploymentTesting, Documentation, and ReportingDevelop and execute test scripts for new builds and system enhancementsMaintain comprehensive documentation of configurations and workflow designsDevelop and generate operational and financial reports using Epic reporting toolsSupport leadership decision-making with accurate data analysis and reportingTraining and CollaborationPartner with training teams to develop materials for new features and workflow changesConduct or support end-user training sessions as neededAct as liaison between IT, billing operations, finance, and external vendorsLead meetings, manage issue logs, and prioritize tasks within project timelinesRequired QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or related field requiredAssociate's degree with equivalent relevant experience may be consideredExperienceMinimum of 2–3 years of experience supporting healthcare information systems, preferably in hospital or professional billing environmentsHands-on experience with Epic or comparable healthcare billing systems requiredCertificationEpic certification in Resolute Hospital Billing (HB) or Professional Billing (PB) highly preferredAbility to obtain Epic certification within a defined timeframe if not currently certifiedTechnical ExpertiseDeep knowledge of Epic Resolute billing modules including charge router, workqueue configuration, collection workflows, statement processing, and claims operationsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint)Familiarity with project management methodologies and toolsIndustry KnowledgeStrong understanding of revenue cycle processes and reimbursement methodologiesFamiliarity with professional versus hospital billing workflowsKnowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAAUnderstanding of ICD-10 and related coding and claims standardsProfessional CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutionsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong project coordination and organizational abilitiesHigh attention to detail and commitment to data integrityAbility to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced healthcare IT environmentCareer Path PotentialThis role offers a foundation for advancement within healthcare IT and revenue cycle leadership.
